100 Days of UI is a daily UI design challenge, which aims to help you grow as a designer, by providing you with daily prompts. I have decided that I am going to take this challenge, and start posting a new design every week day (the prompts are sent out Monday through Friday). I am looking to expand my skills as a designer – especially when it comes to the UX (or User Experience) side of things.
I have long been an advocate of making things user friendly, easy to navigate, and just a general pleasure to interact with. People rarely stay on websites with bad UX for longer than absolutely necessary.
I am a developer by trade, but design has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I have always loved mocking up new designs for sites that I felt really needed help. Since I am familiar with development, I think it gives me a great perspective while designing. I know what is reasonable to develop, and can design accordingly.
In addition to designing these UIs, I am also planning to develop a few of them as well. Since these prompts are only sent out on the week days, I may spend the weekends developing a couple of the previous weeks UIs, and posting them to my GitHub pages portfolio.
I hope you’ll join me on this adventure.
